The new direct service between Chiang Mai International Airport and Kansai International Airport will be operated on an A321 aircraft.

It will take approximately 5 hours to fly from Chiang Mai to Osaka.

Thai Vietjet will operate three weekly round-trip flights, every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, according to the following flight schedule:

Woranate Laprabang, chief executive officer of Thai Vietjet, said:

“The upcoming new service launch between Chiang Mai and Osaka marks another significant milestone for Thai Vietjet.

Chiang Mai, along with Bangkok and Phuket, has long been regarded as one of Thailand’s top tourist destinations.

In 2018, it welcomed over 10 million tourists, with over 30% of them coming from abroad.

Although the number has increased, particularly in the post-pandemic time, there are now few direct international services that bring international passengers directly to Chiang Mai.

We believe that by launching our new service this time, we will be able to offer opportunities for Thai passengers to visit Osaka as well as passengers from Japan, particularly from Osaka, to travel to the beautiful city of Chiang Mai at an affordable price while providing high quality and comfortable service.”

Osaka is the second largest city after Tokyo, located in the Kansai region of Honshu, Japan.

The city is well known for its delicious traditional food, shopping areas, districts with neon lights, a famous amusement park, and many more.

Chiang Mai draws visitors from all over the world with its breathtaking mountain scenery and traditional Lanna culture.

Tourists can enjoy exquisite Thai Northern cuisine, experience beautiful Lanna traditional culture, participate in activities ranging from trekking in the jungle to bathing elephants in elephant camps, or cherish the peace of life at the top of Chiang Dao Mountain, which is 2,195 meters above sea level.

Apart from Chiang Mai – Osaka service, Thai Vietjet is currently operating a daily direct flight between Bangkok and Fukuoka.

Thai Vietjet has been providing leading capacity to passengers with the highest level of safety for travel during the Covid-19 outbreak.

The carrier also strictly performs aircraft disinfection throughout its fleet in compliance with the Thai Ministry of Public Health and CAAT’s directives, to reduce potential risks to the health of passengers and its staff.
