Michael Armand Hammer Dead At Age 67

Michael Armand Hammer, business titan and famous father of Armie Hammer, died Sunday at the age of 67 after a lengthy battle with cancer.

The business mogul worked as an investment banker in New York City before becoming involved in his grandfather’s company, Occidental Petroleum. He moved the company’s headquarters to Los Angeles in the ’80s and became the VP of the company, as well as occupying a seat on the Board of Directors, according to TMZ. He continued to climb to the highest levels of success in the business world and soon reigned over Hammer Productions, the Armand Hammer Foundation, Hammer Galleries, and the Hammer International Foundation, according to TMZ.

The Hammer family topped the headlines earlier in 2022 after the release of the docuseries “House of Hammer.” The show focused on many of the alleged crimes and scandals, and claimed to reveal the inner workings of a dark family history.

Hammer will be laid to rest in the family mausoleum in the Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park, alongside his father Armand, and other family members that have been laid to rest, according to TMZ.

Hammer is survived by his wife Misty and his children Armie and Viktor.
