Actress Lisa Brown, who was best known for her role on Guiding Light, has sadly passed away at age 67.

According to reports, the TV star passed away on November 24 after suffering a short illness.

The Emmy nominee was also famous for her nine year role in the soap As The World Turns from 1985.

Speaking to Soap Opera Digest: Martha Byrne, who played her daughter Lily on the programme paid tribute to her co-star, she said: "She was my friend since I was 15 years old.

"Lisa was my mentor, mother, sister and so much more for my life. As a scene partner, she was always present and full of creativity."

"I will miss our daily calls about our families, our careers, and everything in between. For the fans, she loved and respected you all more than you will ever know.

"She loved entertaining you and her appreciation for your support was immeasurable. We are devastated at the loss of an incredible woman."

As The World Turns also released a statement over on their Twitter page which read: "Rest in Peace to an icon, a trailblazer, a forever beauty Lisa Brown."

Many heartfelt tributes flooded in beneath the post, with one person writing: "So sad. Lisa Brown was an incredible talent.

"Sending prayers to her family and friends. Condolences to her As The World Turns and Guiding Light families."

Another added: "This breaks my heart. I can’t imagine this world without Lisa Brown."

While a third penned: "Lisa Brown was a superstar talent. She gave life to two, memorable, incredible, beloved Soap Opera characters, Nola Reardon Chamberlain, and Iva Synder Benedict."

"What actor gets to say that!? What an impact she had in the soap world. Irreplaceable! So sad!"

The actress married her second husband Brian Neary in 1997 and leaves behind her two children and grandchildren.
