Amanda Holden has left fans baffled with her interesting pronunciation of the word "wasabi."

The 50-year-old, most famous for her as a judge on Britain's Got Talent, sent fans into a frenzy when her new E4 show The Holden Girls: Mandy & Myrtle premiered September 7.

Many viewers who tuned in expecting to watch a sweet documentary on the relationship between Amanda and her nan who was staying with her in her London home, were in for a surprise when they discovered it's not her grandma, it's Leigh Francis, aka Keith Lemon.

In the episode, Amanda could be seen preparing for a dinner party, which her nan "wasn't sure about" after complaining that she can't eat too late because the food "sits on her stomach".

In an attempt to convince her to join the group, Amanda explained they'll be eating sushi, adding that "it's really light," so it shouldn't upset her belly.

Leigh, who says she's never had sushi, is unsure and asks Amanda what the "green stuff" is - referring to wasabi, a spicy green paste served with sushi.

But as Amanda began to explain what it was, she could be heard pronouncing the condiment in a very strange way - wosabee.

Fans were left scratching their heads at the pronunciation, and were quick to comment on it on Twitter.

One person said: "@AmandaHolden pronouncing wasabi has blown my mind."

Another wrote: "Wosabbey???"

A third commented: "What, pray tell, the f**k is going on with that pronunciation of wasabi!?

"It's neither the anglicised way or the Japanese way, she's just banged an 'o' in place of the first 'a'!?"

But Amanda's not the first celeb to be mocked for their weird sayings.

Nigella Lawson previously had fans wondering whether she knew how to pronounce the word "microwave" after she was spotted saying it rather bizarrely.

A clip from her show Cook, Eat, Repeat saw her explaining how to make brown butter colcannon - veg filled mash potato - when she told viewers that she'd heated up the milk in the "mee-cro-wah-vay".

Take a look at how she says it here.
