Bellator 258 pre-event facts: Anthony Johnson returns with a strong resume

After a two-week hiatus, Bellator returns Friday with a loaded Bellator 258 lineup from Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., which airs on Showtime.

A bantamweight title fight headlines the card. Champion Juan Archuleta (25-2 MMA, 7-1 BMMA) will look to log his first title defense when he takes on UFC veteran Sergio Pettis (20-5 MMA, 2-0 BMMA).

Juan Archuleta vs. Sergio Pettis

Archuleta was a three-division champion under the King of the Cage banner, holding titles at lightweight, featherweight and bantamweight.

Archuleta is 2-0 in Bellator bantamweight competition. He improved to 10-1 in his career when fighting at the weight class.

Archuleta has earned five of his seven Bellator victories by decision.

Patricky Freire (23-9 MMA, 14-7 BMMA) competes in his 22nd Bellator lightweight bout, the most appearances in divisional history.

Freire’s 14 victories in Bellator lightweight competition are second most in divisional history behind Michael Chandler (15).

Freire’s nine stoppage victories in Bellator lightweight competition are second most in divisional history behind Chander (10).

Michael Page’s (18-1 MMA, 14-1 BMMA) 12 victories in Bellator welterweight competition are third most in divisional history behind Douglas Lima (13) and Andrey Koreshkov (13).

Page’s 10 stoppage victories in Bellator competition are fourth most in company history behind Chandler (13), Patricio Freire (13) and A.J. McKee (12).

Page’s nine stoppage victories in Bellator welterweight competition are tied with Lima for most in divisional history.

Page’s nine knockout victories in Bellator competition are tied with Lima and Patricky Freire for most in company history.

Lorenz Larkin (22-7 MMA, 4-2 BMMA) returns to competition for the first time since December 2019. The layoff is the longest of his nearly 12-year career.

Larkin returns to the middleweight division for the first time since August 2014.

Rafael Carvalho (16-5 MMA, 7-4 BMMA) is 1-4 his past five fights dating back to when he lost the Bellator middleweight title in May 2018.

Carvalho returns to the middleweight division for the first time since July 2019. He went 0-2 during a stint at light heavyweight.

Carvalho competes in his 10th Bellator middleweight bout, the second most appearances in divisional history behind Alexander Shlemenko (17).

Josh Hill vs. Raufeon Stots

Josh Hill (20-3 MMA, 2-0 BMMA) has earned 14 of his 20 career victories by decision. That includes both of his Bellator wins.

Raufeon Stots’ (15-1 MMA, 3-0 BMMA) three-fight Bellator winning streak at bantamweight is the longest active streak in the division.

Henry Corrales vs. Johnny Campbell

Henry Corrales (18-5 MMA, 6-5 BMMA) drops to the bantamweight division after spending his previous 11 Bellator appearances at featherweight.
