Pokémon anime composer Ralph Schuckett passes away

Ralph Schuckett, the Composer for the Orchestral Score of the English dub versions of the first three Pokémon movies, as well as the English dub of the Pokémon anime TV series, passed away on Sunday at the age of 73. As of writing, no cause of death has been announced.

A highly active session keyboardist and producer, and composer for animated works, Ralph in his long career worked with a wide array of musicians and actors, including contributing to songs by Whitney Houston, Cher, and David Hasselhoff. In addition to approximately 17 years on the Pokémon TV series, his animation credits include composing work on a wide array of series from 4Kids Entertainment, including anime series such as Yu-Gi-Oh!, Shaman King, Kirby: Right Back At Ya!, and Sonic X, as well as the 4Kids produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles TV series in 2003.

Ralph is best known by music fans however as a founding member of American rock band Utopia, having played with them through 1973-1975, and returning for tours in 2011 and 2018.
