EVGA Is "Hand-Reviewing" RTX 3080 Orders To Fight Bots

The shortage of Nvidia's new Geforce RTX 3080 graphics card continues to plague the PC gaming community, with many enthusiasts still unable to secure an order. In the latest effort to prevent bots from snapping up all of the cards, Nvidia partner EVGA has announced that it's "hand-reviewing" all RTX 3080 orders.

This rather unusual move comes nearly a week after the disastrous launch of the GPU, where many gamers were unable to purchase the card even at the exact moment of its rollout. Many of those customers have blamed bots for the shortage on platforms like Reddit, which has led Nvidia to release multiple public statements detailing the changes that it's making to bot-proof its platform.

Nvidia and its retail partners also noted the unprecedented demand for the card, which in many cases exceeded Black Friday numbers. Customers that are subscribed to Amazon's "in-stock" alerts are being sent to listings that are asking for wildly-inflated prices, up to $5000.
