Celebrity Chef Aaron Grissom Dies Following Serious Motorcycle Crash
The culinary world is mourning the loss of one of its own after celebrity chef Aaron Grissom passed away in a motorcycle crash earlier this week.

NBCMiami.com reports that Grissom was involved in a traffic collision in Pierce County, Washington State, resulting in “multiple blunt force injuries.” TMZ.com reports that Grissom was riding his 2018 Suzuki GSX-R750 when he struck a curb in a roundabout.
Grissom rose to fame on the television program Top Chef, where he placed 11th out of 16 contestants. He also appeared on the Food Network program Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
Since 2001, Florida has seen an increase in motorcycle crash fatalities. RideSmartFlorida.com reports that between 2001-2007 Florida saw a doubling of motorcycle fatalities. The state reached a peak in motorcycle-related fatalities in 2015, when 1 in 5 traffic deaths were motorcyclists. Though the numbers have decreased some since 2015, Florida motorcycle fatalities continue to be well above those of just a decade ago.
