As of June 30, Greater Victoria Public Library patrons will be able to borrow materials at either the Central branch in downtown Victoria or the Langford Heritage branch.

Library users have been unable to access services since all 12 branches closed on March 16 because of the pandemic.

Beginning June 30, library users will be able to put a hold on any item in the library system’s catalogue and collect it at the Central branch, 735 Broughton St.

Elderly or immune-compromised visitors can go to the Central branch 11 a.m. to noon Monday to Saturday. It will be open to others noon to 4 p.m.

Items can be returned to the outdoor drop box between 9 a.m. Monday and 5 p.m. Saturday. An indoor drop box will open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Saturday.

The vending machine at the Langford Heritage branch (102-1314 Lakepoint Way), which has books, movies and video games, will be available 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday to Friday, and 9-4 p.m. Saturday. Materials can also be returned during those hours.

Fines and late fees have not accumulated during the closure, but they will be in effect as of June 30. In addition to the Central and Langford Heritage, returns will be accepted at James Bay and Emily Carr 9 a.m. Monday to 5 p.m. Saturday. — Times Colonist
