How to Get Booze Delivered to Your Door in Portland

Many Portland breweries, distilleries, and wine bars have pivoted to delivery to service customers in quarantine

With Gov. Kate Brown banning onsite consumption at Portland’s bars and restaurants, local beer brewers and wine buyers have been forced to find new methods to stay in business. Thanks to the OLCC temporarily relaxing rules around alcohol delivery, bars and breweries have started rolling out new delivery programs throughout most of Portland, and Oregon distillers are now able to deliver to locals.

Spirits

At Your Door

A brand new local delivery company, At Your Door acts like a virtual liquor store for local distilleries, where customers can select products from multiple distilleries and have them delivered the next day for a flat $10 fee. Distilleries are being regularly added to the list, but some standouts include:

  • Aria Gin: An iconic Portland gin company, Aria is selling its flagship gin, barrel-aged versions, and cocktail kits like a pomegranate gimlet or classic martini with all the necessary ingredients for homebartending
  • New Deal Distillery: One of the city’s most venerable distilleries, New Deal’s wide range of spirits, from its spicy vodka to its aromatic pear brandy and rich coffee liqueur, are available on the platform.
  • Jaz Spirits: This micro-distillery focused on botanical spirits inspired by the forests of the Pacific Northwest is selling its unique gins, vodka, and berry liqueur.
  • Vinn Spirits: Vinn’s many rice-based spirits, known as baiju, are available through At Your Door’s market. This includes the vodka-like flagship baiju, as well as the aged whiskey styles and flavored liquors like honey and mocha.
  • Stone Barn Brandyworks: Makers of high quality, locally sourced fruit brandies and liqueurs, Stone Barn has a number of options, including apricot liqueur, pear brandy, Oregon bourbon, and the walnut-based nocino.

Freeland Spirits

Freeland is offering local door-to-door delivery of its craft gin, bourbon, and geneva, for orders of $100 or more. Besides its bottles and canned gin and tonics, the distillery offers a number of fun packs, like survival pack which includes bourbon, gin, a four-pack of canned gin and tonics, citrus, hot sauce, rose tonic syrup, and hand sanitizers. It and the other packs are available for purchase via the distillery’s website.

Westward Whiskey

One of the first distilleries to start delivering, Westward Whiskey offers a comprehensive list of its spirits, including specialty packages like old-fashioned kits and gift sets. The American malt whiskeys range from the flagship single malt through various barrel-finished expressions. All of it is available on an easily navigable website, with free shipping anywhere in Oregon, usually within a day or so depending on the location

Straightaway Cocktails

This brand of bottled cocktails and spritzers is offering delivery within a 15-mile radius of the SE Hawthorne shop for orders $99 and up. Customers can order mixed cases of bottled cocktails like the negroni or old fashioned, spritzers like the last word spritz, and other products on the website or by calling (971) 255-1627 or emailing orders@straightawaycocktails.com. Same day delivery is $9.99, with charges waived for orders $150 and above.

Rogue Spirits

The large scale Oregon brewery and distiller, Rogue Spirits is delivering its beer and liquor to residents of Portland, Newport, and Portland’s surrounding suburbs at no charge. Shoppers can find canned cocktails, bottles of Dead Guy Whiskey and other spirits, plus beer and swag at the company’s website.

Beer and Cider

Locust Cider

The Vancouver branch of a cidery is delivering its ciders, beers, and canned wines via Door Dash, along with a few food items. It’s limited to the northern part of Portland, though.

Cascade Brewing

A pioneer in the sour and aged beer scene, Cascade Brewing has recently started delivering straight to homes. Shopping is done at the website, and orders go out Thursdays starting at 10 a.m.; all orders need to be entered by midnight of Wednesday the night before. There’s a minimum of $30 for orders and a fee of $5 for delivery.

The Place

An intimate bottle shop and taproom specializing in cider, the place is offering pickup and delivery on a large menu of ciders, beers, and wines, with same-day deliveries for orders of $50 and up. The store has an easy-to-use online shop and delivers to the Portland metro area out to 82nd Avenue in the east and parts of Portland western and southern suburbs.

Widmer Brothers

One of Portland’s oldest established breweries, Widmer is offering in-store pick up, as well as free delivery for orders over $30, available within a five-mile radius of the brewery’s N Russel Street location. Orders are available at the website.

Portland Bottle Shop

The casual beer and wine bar Portland Bottle Shop is offering delivery within five miles of its location in Sellwood. In addition to bottled beers, the shop is also offering wine delivery. The bar doesn’t have its menu online yet, but requests for beer and wine can be sent to info@pdxbottleshop.com, with orders going out each Friday. There is a $5 delivery charge, and a minimum order of a case of beer or six bottles of wine.

Von Ebert Brewing

The local brewery has launched a next-day beer delivery service for its canned and bottled brews. Delivery is $5 with a $24 minimum order, and the brewery requests that customers present their IDs through the window or tape it to the outside of the door in order to confirm age without contact. The list of zip codes within the range of delivery is available at the order site.

Imperial Bottle Shop

A taproom and bottle shop on Division, Imperial is delivering beers to the east side of the city from 2 to 6 p.m Wednesdays through Sundays, with a $5 charge and $20 minimum. Those looking for some beers can call (971) 302-6899 to place an order and pay over the phone.

Oldtown Brewing

Old Town Brewing & Reverend Nat’s have teamed up to provide beer and cider delivery to all of Portland Metro. Same-day delivery is available if ordered before 3:30 p.m. on their website. There are no minimums for delivery orders.

Sasquatch Brewing

This Hillsdale-based brewery is now delivering its beer and cider across the city. Email or text is required for delivery orders of four-packs and cases, with a $2.50 delivery fee for each 4-pack or free delivery with the purchase of a whole case. Beer selection and contact information can be found on the website.

Pono Brewing

The hip Portland microbrewery with South Pacific influences is now offering kegs or 32oz crowlers for delivery. Deliveries are done on Mondays through Saturdays and can be same-day if ordered before noon. Delivery charges depend on the distance from the brewery, but deliveries can be made anywhere within the Portland Metro area. Order using the form here.

Hopworks Urban Brewery

Portlanders can now get one of Hopworks’ various IPAs delivered to their homes. Delivery is available Monday through Saturday; they require a $20 minimum, and come with a $5 delivery fee charge. The delivery fee is waived if the order is more than $40. Same-day delivery is available for orders made by 3 p.m., and delivery covers a list of Portland zip codes found here.

Little Beast Brewing

Delivering to limited zip codes in the Portland Metro area, this brett-heavy brewery delivers Mondays through Saturdays, with $25 minimum orders and a $5 service fee. Orders must be placed by midnight for next-day delivery. More details and ordering instructions found on the website.

Gigantic Brewing

Delivering within most of Portland’s zip codes, this IPA-happy brewery now offers free delivery every day. Minimum order is $48 of single bottles or a case, and the maximum order is three cases per day. Gigantic’s selection can be found on its site.

Labrewatory

This experimental brewery is bringing beer to addresses within 30 minutes driving time from its North Portland locale, with deliveries happening after 4 p.m. Details and orders can be made using the online store or through email.

Stormbreaker Brewing

This North Portland brewery delivers to limited zip codes in Portland, with same-day delivery on orders made by 3 p.m. There is a $20 minimum for deliveries, and a $5 fee which is waived on orders above $40. Keg delivery is also offered on the website.

Bailey’s Taproom

This downtown beer bar offers a number of bottles and cans, including fancy farmhouse ales and imperial stouts. Orders placed before 1 p.m. will be same-day, while orders after 1 p.m. are next day; the taproom offers $5 delivery for beer orders above $20, and free delivery on orders above $50. Delivery address must fall under the zip codes on this list.

Shift Drinks

The spacious and minimalist bar Shift Drinks has an advanced sommelier as one of the co-owners, and to help pay the bills while the doors are closed, the team is selling off some of the bar’s stellar wines. The bar sells a daily collection of wines along some fun themes, like “Love Oregon, Hate Pinot” or “Three Completely Different Chianti,” usually with five or six bottles, but sometimes just two or even singles. The packages tend to sell out quickly, though ones that dont’ remain available for purchase on the website. The bar delivers to the Portland area for a $5 charge, generally same or next day. There are also cork holders and handmade aprons available for purchase to protect clothing from any wine spillage.

Navarre, Angel Face, and Luce

The small plate restaurant, cocktail bar, and Italian bistro are each selling their wines at retail prices through one place. Shoppers can visit the website for Navarre, Angel Face, and Luce to see the wine list, then email eatatnavarre@gmail.com with orders, shipping address, and cell phone number. Liner and Elsen

A boutique wine shop shop specializing in European wines, Liner and Elsen has an online shop and delivers locally and nationally. Shipping prices are based on weight and distance — a full case delivered downtown, for instance, would be $15 for shipping. Orders can be placed at the site for pickup or delivery.

45 North

An elegant new wine bar, 45 North is offering its local and Old World wines for same-day, no-contact free delivery. Wines are available by flight or bottle with a $35 minimum on delivery orders, and all orders can be placed at the new website.

Pairings Portland Wine Shop and Bar

Jeffrey Weissler’s eccentric wine shop is open on weekends for retail only, 12 to 6 p.m., but is delivering wine to homes seven days a week. Shoppers can call 541-531-7653 or email jeff@pairingsportland.com with desired kinds of wine, and hear back with availability and suggestions. Delivery is $10, but waived for purchases of 6 or more bottles. The store delivers orders of six or more bottles out to Milwaukee, Beaverton, and Columbia Boulevard, and will go even farther with orders on cases of wine.

Les Caves

The subterranean wine bar is offering free delivery in the Portland metro area for its wines as well as its tinned fish and Spanish ham. The online shop offers a number of individual bottles, as well as curated six-packs and twelve-packs of wine.

Ardor Natural Wines

This natural wine shop offers delivery within Portland city limits, which can be same-day if ordered before 1 p.m. Delivery minimum is two bottles, selected by Ardor staff with customer input. Specific bottle requests are welcomed but not guaranteed. There is a $5 delivery fee within 2 miles of Ardor, or a $10 delivery fee anywhere else within Portland City limits. This Pearl District wine shop has a tight list of “quarantine wines” available for delivery, including a Tuscan Sangiovese, a Mendoza malbec, and a skin contact semillon. Order over the website, phone, or email. There are no minimums or fees on deliveries, and delivery is available to any residence within Portland metro.

Arden

Thelonious Wines’ offshoot restaurant and wine bar, Arden recently added wine delivery via Caviar, which includes individual bottles to go along with dinner, as well as larger packages.

Dame

This Killingsworth wine bar offers free deliveries with no minimums. Customers must give information on wine color preferences and type of wine they are interested in, along with number of bottles and budget. Deliveries can be done same-day and during specific time frames. All orders must be made via Instagram message or email.

Bar Norman

Dana Frank’s SE Clinton wine bar now offers free delivery with a three-bottle minimum within 10-miles of inner Northeast Portland. The weekly wines, known as Quarantine Quaffers, are listed on Sunday mornings, with deliveries going out Tuesdays through Fridays. More details can be found on the website.

Division Winemaking Co.

The flagship winery at the SE Wine Collective is now offering complimentary delivery within a 10-mile radius of the winery on 2+ bottles using the code FREESHIP. Same-day delivery is available if ordered before 1 p.m.; the code, FREESHIP, can also be used for free ground shipping on orders of 3+ bottles. SE Wine Collective

Park Avenue Wines

This westside bottle shop and wine bar is offering $7 delivery in Portland Metro, with deliveries done Tuesdays through Saturdays. Order by 3 p.m. for next-day delivery. Shop online, call, or email at info@parkavenuewines.com.

Vino Veritas

This SE Stark wine bar and bottle shop delivers half or full cases of wine within the Portland Metro area. Customers can pick the styles of wine that go into the case, but the wines are chosen by the Vino Veritas team. Deliveries are made within 24 hours of the order. Orders can be made on the website.

Real Good Food

This NE Couch grocery is offering deliveries of wine and vermouth on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Deliveries within 5 miles have a $50 minimum and a $5 delivery fee, while deliveries within five to 10 miles have a $100 minimum and a $20 delivery fee. Giraffe Goods

The Japanese cafe and grocery is delivering sake within a 10-mile range, with free delivery at $20+. Cases receive a 10 percent discount, and all deliveries are made within 24 hours. Orders can be placed through the website or by phone.

Olympia Provisions

OP’s Portland Pantry service provides home delivery for wine, meat and pantry staples for most of Portland Metro. Choose bottles or cans from a list of wine, beer and cider curated by the OP team on their website. Deliveries typically go out Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and orders placed before 2 p.m. are delivered the next available delivery day for your zip code.

Some Favorite Portland Wineries

Ovum

A regular feature at restaurants and wine bars, the Big Salt from Ovum, as well as the winery’s other distinctive wines, is available for home delivery, with free shipping for full cases.

Bow & Arrow

As well as being a place to pick up orders from Bar Norman, Bow & Arrow is shipping its stylish wines, including the melon de bourgogne, via third party shipping. Prices and times vary, with more information at the website.

Love & Squalor

The Portland Wine Company tasting room is closed, but bottles of Love & Squalor’s rieslings and pinot noir are available for home delivery at the website. The wines ship on Tuesdays, with free delivery for six or more bottles within 10 miles.

Hiyu

Based on a farm outside of Hood River rather than Portland, Hiyu is still popular among Portland wine directors. The bold, playful wines are available for delivery via the website, with special discounts and free shipping for packages over $250.

St. Reginald Parish

A regular presence at Portland food events and behind bars, St. Reginald Parish’s carbonic macerated wines are available for delivery. It’s a pretty informal affair — interested customers can contact owner Andy Young via Instagram for direct deliveries of three or more bottles. Some bottle are also available from Dame.

Landmass Wines

This white and rosé-focused winery from winemaker Melaney Schmidt, Landmass is delivering directly to homes. Orders can be placed through Instagram or by emailing hello@landmasswines.com — there are no delivery charges, but the team asks that customers in central Portland get at least two bottles while those outside, like Beaverton or Gresham, order at least three.
