He was one of the first producers to approach me with a film

Junglee released. In those times, people on a film set were like family; we’d cook and eat together. J Omji secured an appointment with Dilip
saab (
Dilip Kumar), to offer him a role in another film. I told him he should tell Dilip saab, “Saira is dying to work with you.” The film didn’t materialise, but he did pass on my message. Another time, we were shooting in Kashmir and Pinky accompanied us with mother Padmaji. Omji would tease her incessantly. Both he and Mohan Kumar created such beautiful tunes with
