Pickleball tourney benefits Thrive Alliance

More than 75 participants played a total of 119 matches in Thrive Alliance’s third annual Pickleball Tournament fundraiser, which generated more than $4,500 to support the organization’s services.

The event, conducted June 7-9 at Central Middle School in downtown Columbus, attracted competitive and recreational Pickleball players throughout the Midwest.

Competitions included a corporate challenge, men’s and women’s doubles and mixed doubles. Winners were:

Corporate challenge: 1. DLZ (Dave Adams, Charlie Day), 2. Papa’s Grill (Judy Cummings, Ashley Craig), 3. Egenolf (Mel Hunter, Deb Lienhoop)

Women’s doubles competitive: 1. Hannah Hook and Celeste Hook, 2. Bev Chinn and Bonnie Rogers, 3. Ashley Craig and Sarah Distelrath

Men’s doubles competitive: 1. Ryan Hanson and Brandon Snyder, 2. Alex Cannon and Jim Hook, 3. Matt Noblitt and Dave Adams

Women’s doubles recreational: 1. Debbie Cotton and Lynne Saler, 2. Cindy Purvis and Ashley McDermott, 3. Linda Thompson and Sue Wildemann

Men’s doubles recreational: 1. Scott Wright and William Padamadan, 2. Venket Jayaraman and Ray Arnholt, 3. Patrick McDermott and Wayne Purvis

Mixed doubles competitive: 1. Matt Noblitt and Ashley Craig, 2. Dave Adams and Hannah Hook, 3. Celeste Hook and Jim Hook

Mixed doubles recreational: 1. Joyce Ellinger and William Padamadan, 2. Rick Saltsman and Lynne Saler, 3. Ashley McDermott and Patrick McDermott
