SIGNS HAVE GONE UP AT NEW NEWK’S EATERY LOCATION

The national restaurant chain has chosen Sterling for its first Virginia location.

Progress is being made on Virginia’s first Newk’s Eatery location, which is opening in Sterling. Signs have gone up, construction crews are hard at work and equipment is being moved into the space. The Burn first broke the Newk’s news back in January.

The restaurant — which is similar in concept to a Panera — is coming to the Shoppes at Potomac Corner development on Route 7. Newk’s is a national chain based out of Mississippi and has approximately 125 restaurants open or in the works across the southeastern United States.

Newk’s menu is filled with pizzas, sandwiches, soups, salads, mac and cheeses and more. It’s a fast-casual concept where customers order at a counter and then food is brought out to them.

The Shoppes at Potomac Corner is kitty corner from the Northern Virginia Community College campus, and across Route 7 from the Kohl’s department store and the new Ollie’s Bargain Outlet location.
