CASTINGS

“House of Cards” star Dominique McElligott, Beau Bridges, Zhu Zhu, and Song Yang have joined Boyd Holbrook in the cast of Juan Cabral’s drama “Two/One.”

The movie is currently in production in Canada and explores the idea that while we sleep in one place, we are awake somewhere else — in this case, a world-class ski jumper in Canada and a corporate executive in Shanghai, China.

Producers of “Two/One” are Redrum Films’ Flora Fernandez Marengo and Chris Clark along with Dave Valleau of South Creek Pictures. Holbrook is an executive producer. Protagonist Pictures is handling international sales and CAA reps domestic rights.

McElligott’s credits include “The Astronaut Wives Club” and “Hell on Wheels.” Song Yang starred in “The Sword Identify” and Zhu Zhu starred in “Marco Polo.” Bridges’ credits include “The Mountain Between Us” and “Masters of Sex.”

Cabral is an Argentinian commercials director who has won 20 Cannes Lions, two Cannes Grand Prix, and a nomination from the Directors Guild of America. “Two/One” is his feature film directing debut. The news was first reported by Deadline Hollywood.

INDEPENDENT GROSS

Manny Halley’s Faith Media Distribution company has generated $1.2 million in domestic box office during two months of limited release for “True to the Game,” starring Columbus Short and Erica Peeples.

The movie, an adaptation of the New York Times bestseller by Teri Woods, is a love story between a prominent Philadelphia drug dealer and a woman as they struggle to balance his street life and their mutual love. The film also stars Vivica A. Fox, Andra Fuller, Iyana Halley, and the late Nelsan Ellis.

“True to the Game” was financed and produced by Halley’s Imani Entertainment Group. It earned $472,000 at 419 locations in its opening weekend on Sept. 8-10. It will air in early 2018 on BET pursuant to a three-picture deal between Imani Entertainment Group and BET Networks.
