Stanislaus State designated hitter and pitcher Austin Fitzpatrick, a St. Patrick-St. Vincent grad, was named the CCAA Baseball Player of the Week, for the week of April 10-16.

Fitzpatrick led the Warriors offensively and contributed on the mound as Stanislaus State swept Cal State San Bernardino in a three-game series that extended the Warriors win streak to four games and helped Stanislaus remain in contention for post-season play.

At the plate, Fitzpatrick hit .400 for the series, going 4-for-10 with a double, a home run, and three RBI and compiled an on-base percentage of .500 after being hit by a pitch and walked once. The designated hitter came up big on Saturday as he went two-for-three with a double and a homer to drive in three runs in the Warriors narrow 4-3 victory.

He also came in as relief in Friday’s opener. In two innings of work, the Napa Valley College transfer walked just one batter and struck out three.
