A LIVERPOOL biscuit factory worker got the thumbs up from X Factor judges this weekend.

Craig Colton surprised his parents, who were in the studio audience at the ECHO Arena, by telling them he had gone to work – and even got his mum to iron his uniform as a cover.

The 22-year-old who performed Adele’s Hiding My Heart had the audience in the packed arena on their feet.

Take That frontman and new head judge Gary Barlow told him: “You deserve all the applause you got today.”

Craig is now through to the Bootcamp phase of the contest, where he will have to prove once again he’s got what it takes.
