THEFT FROM AUTO, WEYMOUTH CIRCLE: Two homeowners told police Aug. 7 their vehicles were broken into overnight. A 2003 Toyota Camry parked in a common carport had the passenger front window broken, and a $180 GPS was taken. Also, in a nearby parking lot, a 2007 Ford Fusion had the driver's window broken and a $150 GPS taken.
THEFT FROM AUTO, NORTH BAY DRIVE: A woman told police Aug. 7 somebody stole her $400 set of golf clubs was from her 2006 Jeep. There was no damage to the vehicle, although the victim was certain it was locked.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, SEQUOIA TRAIL: A handyman discovered damage to the front door of a home Aug. 8. Investigators said it appears somebody tried to force the door latch with a tool. Officers checked the rest of the home and found that the rear slider was damaged as well.
THEFT, WEYMOUTH CIRCLE: An unlocked boys silver Magna bike valued at $129 was stolen from the porch of an apartment some time after 2 a.m. on Aug. 9.
CRIMINAL DAMAGING, CAROLINE CIRCLE: A man told police Aug. 10 somebody damaged two of his vehicles. The victim's 2006 Kia Sedona had words scratched into the rear hatch on Aug. 8, as well as other scratches around the vehicle. The Kia was parked in the man's open garage. The victim also stated that his 2001 Honda Accord was damaged in the same way three weeks ago while parked in the building's lot.
COUNTERFIT BILL, SPERRY DRIVE: A waitress at a Sperry Drive restaurant reported receiving a counterfeit $20 bill on either Aug 7. or 9 as part of her tips for the day. The woman noticed the fake bill on Aug. 10 when she went to pay a utility bill. She then notified Westlake police. The currency will be forwarded to the Secret Service.
