Russia’s CTC Media is enjoying growing success with its Channel 31 operation in neighbouring Kazakhstan.
According to the company, the station posted a record audience share of 15.8% in its 6-54 year-old target demographic in Q2 this year, up from 12.2% a year earlier.
Its share in the first six months of the year stood at 15.2%, up from 11.2% in the corresponding period in 2010.
Channel 31 is now the second most watched channel in Kazakhstan, with a national penetration of 82.9% in an ad market worth $115 million (€80.6 million) in 2010.
CTC Media is backed by Modern Times Group (MTG) and operates the channels CTC, Domashny and DTV in Russia.
