Irdeto has announced that Toshiba has decided to adopt the company’s dynamic security solution for its high-end Cinema Series HDTV sets.
The latter, as an added value, particularly for the US market, adopt the latest specifications of Netflix.
Last year, Irdeto announced that Netflix had licensed Irdeto’s security technology, an iteration of the company’s ActiveCloak for Media offering, to securely provide its 20 million plus members greater convenience, selection and value for instantly viewing TV episodes and movies across a wide range of consumer electronic devices.
Commenting on the latest agreement, David Canellos, senior VP of sales/marketing, Irdeto said: “Irdeto is delighted to meet Toshiba’s requirements as they roll out their connected LED TV sets in overseas markets, particularly the US. Netflix, which has revolutionized TV viewing in the US, positions Toshiba as a preferred and trusted brand in home entertainment.”
