Poland’s amended media law, which only came into effect on May 23, has already run into difficulties.
According to Rzeczpospolita, the country’s National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) has failed to issue any regulations pertaining to product placement in films and series and to stations broadcasting over the internet.
However, the regulator has responded to this criticism by saying that it will introduce such regulations within the next two months, prior to which broadcasters will effectively have to fend for themselves.
The amended media law has already been criticised for failing to address VOD services.
These, it is understood, will be included in the next round of amendments to the legislation.
