This 1976 Bultaco Alpina 250 was acquired as a project out of Montana in 2021 by the seller who subsequently carried out a refurbishment that included overhauling the 238cc two-stroke single and five-speed transmission and refinishing the bodywork in red with silver graphics. The aluminum was polished, the frame and various components were repainted, and the tires, fork seals, drive chain, front wheel spokes, and more were replaced. The bike features a black vinyl seat, a cross-braced handlebar, stainless-steel fenders, a headlight, a taillight, piggyback shocks, and a high-mount exhaust system. This Alpina 250 is offered at no reserve in Iowa for off-road use only with a bill of sale.
Work carried out during the refurbishment included painting the frame, side stand, swingarm, side covers, and fuel tank, the latter of which was internally lined with Caswell sealer fitted with a replacement petcock, decals, and fuel cap. The seat, tool box, grips, and shift and kick start rubbers were replaced, and the wheel hubs, triple clamps, and fork lowers were polished. The bike features a cross-braced handlebar, a headlight, a taillight, and stainless-steel fenders. No instrumentation is present, however the seller notes having ridden approximately 25 miles since the refurbishment.
Wire-spoke wheels measure 21″ up front and 18″ out back, and the front wheel was fitted with replacement stainless-steel spokes and nipples. Shinko trials-style tires are mounted. The leading-axle fork was fitted with seals, and its fluid was changed during the build. The bike features piggyback-reservoir rear shocks and drum brakes.
The 238cc two-stroke single was overhauled by the seller with a stock-bore piston and rings, while the main bearings and seals were replaced and the aluminum cases were polished. It is equipped with an Amal Mark II 26mm carburetor and a high-mount, through-the-frame exhaust system.
The five-speed transmission was overhauled with work that included replacing the bearings, seals, and gaskets, and the drive chain, tensioner pad, and clutch cable were replaced at that time.
The bike does not have a title or registration and is being offered on a bill of sale only.
