This 1972 GMC K2500 Sierra Grande was retrofitted in 2016 with a 454ci V8 according to the seller, who tells us they acquired the truck out of Nevada in 2017. A refurbishment that began in 2022 was completed in 2025, which involved a repaint and exterior refresh, overhauling the interior, and adding a dual exhaust system, a 4″ lift, 17″ Pro Comp wheels with 35″ KO2’s, and a red oak bed floor. The truck was finished at the factory in Ochre and white, and it also features a TH350 three-speed automatic, power steering, front disc brakes, Pioneer speakers, a Bluetooth-capable stereo, tan upholstery with houndstooth inserts, and Vintage Air climate control. This K2500 shows 13k miles on its rolled odometer and is offered in California with some parts receipts, a removed gas tank, and a clean Idaho title in the seller’s name.
The truck was refinished with PPG paints per the seller, who adds that its grille, brightwork, bumpers, and emblems were replaced during the refurbishment along with glass, weatherstripping, and window felts. The hood hinges, inner fenders, and radiator core support were powder coated, as well.
The 8′ Wideside box features a red oak floor with polished stainless-steel runners, and it has a filler for the new gas tank that was installed beneath it. Other tanks were removed along with the filler for the main tank in the cab, and the remaining filler on the side of the truck is no longer connected, however its removed auxiliary tank is included in the sale.
The Pro Comp 17″ alloy wheels are mounted with 35×12.50″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires. The suspension has a 4″ lift with Rough Country dampers.
The bench is reupholstered in tan vinyl with houndstooth inserts, and fresh carpets line the floors of the cab, which also has a replacement headliner, dashboard pad, and Vintage Air climate control with heating and air conditioning. Pioneer speakers are wired to a Bluetooth-capable Pioneer head unit with a USB port.
A three-spoke steering wheel is mounted on the refurbished tilt column. The five-digit odometer shows 13k miles and has rolled over once per the seller, who reports adding ~300 miles under current ownership.
The 454ci big-block V8 has an electric-choke carburetor and an aluminum radiator, and long-tube headers are mated to a dual exhaust system with an H-pipe and stainless-steel mufflers.
Power is routed to the rear or all four wheels through a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission and an NP205 dual-range transfer case, and the truck was equipped at the factory with a limited-slip Dana 60 rear end.
