Chilean thrash metal veterans Criminal shared sad news that their former guitarist and also the band's co-founder Rodrigo Contreras has passed away. He was part of the band in years between 1991 and 2010.

The band comments: "The Criminal family is mourning. We hadn’t posted anything out of respect for his family’s wishes, but today we have to confirm that unfortunately the rumors are true: Rodrigo Contreras, ex-guitarist and co-founder of Criminal passed away last Sunday due to a tragic illness. Our most sincere condolences to his family, friends and fans. He will always be remembered for his immortal riffs and solos."
