Chief Executive Officer of the Yadgir Zilla Panchayat Lavish Ordia has instructed workers to submit applications seeking work under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) as demand centres have been opened in all gram and taluk panchayats and also, the zilla panchayat.
In a release here on Wednesday, he said that the Department of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj has taken initiatives to provide jobs for 100 days in a year under the MGNREGA to prevent workers from migrating to big cities for livelihood.
“Demand centres at the panchayat level are open. Workers should submit applications (Form 6) to such demand centres seeking jobs. Workers should make use of this opportunity and get work under the Act,” he added.
