Russia and Ukraine exchanged hundreds of prisoners of war in a deal mediated by the United Arab Emirates, with 189 Ukrainian prisoners, mostly soldiers but including two civilians, returning home on Monday evening.
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy confirmed the release of 189 Ukrainians, including military personnel and two civilians while Russia’s Defence Ministry said that 150 Russian soldiers were freed in return.
The United Arab Emirates acted as a mediator in this latest prisoner exchange.
