MachineGames has spoken on several occasions about how Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is going to try and diversify its gameplay in several ways, with puzzles, combat, and stealth all playing important roles in the action-adventure experience. Where difficulty is concerned, meanwhile, players will be able to tinker with the settings for different aspects of the game separately from one another.

Speaking in a recent interview with MinnMax, design director Jens Andersson revealed that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will an Adventure difficulty setting for puzzles, and an Action difficulty for combat and stealth, and that the two will be separate from one another. So if you want an experience that goes easy with its combat but pushes you with its puzzles (or vice versa), the game will let you do that.

Meanwhile, during the interview, Andersson also revealed that the game doesn’t feature a Photo Mode, which will likely be disappointing for many. Players will be able to use Indy’s camera in-game as part of his toolset (no selfies, though), but an actual Photo Mode isn’t going to be included.

MachineGames has also confirmed that The Great Circle is going to be its largest and longest game to date, and offered some brief details on what its post-launch expansion will bring.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle launches on December 9 for Xbox Series X/S and PC, and for PS5 next Spring.
