Shah also launched the DGPs/IGPs conference recommendations dashboard developed by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), as part of implementation of decisions taken at the annual DGPs/IGPs conference chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Over 750 officers from across the country are participating in the National Security Strategies Conference conference, which is being held in a hybrid format. Junior home ministers Nityanand Rai and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, home secretary Govind Mohan, additional and deputy national security advisors and heads of CAPFs and CPOs are attending the conference in Delhi. The police chiefs of states and UTs as also young police officers at the cutting-edge level and domain experts from specialised fields are joining the conference from the respective state capitals through virtual mode.
Prior to opening the security strategies conference, Shah laid a wreath at the Martyrs column and paid homage to the police personnel who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
The idea of a National Security Strategies Conference was conceived by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the DGPs/IGPs conference with the objective of finding solutions to major national security challenges through discussions amongst a unique mix of senior police leadership managing national security challenges, young police officers working at the cutting-edge level and domain experts of specialised fields. During the police chiefs conference in 2020, the prime minister had directed that the conference be held in a hybrid mode for wider participation.
