Danica Patrick Fires Back at Taylor Swift Over Kamala Harris Endorsement

Former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick has openly criticized pop superstar Taylor Swift for her endorsement of Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election. Swift, who is earning around $13.6 million per performance on her Eras Tour, recently confirmed her support for Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate and current Vice President. This endorsement has stirred significant reactions from various celebrities, including Patrick, whose conservative views are well known.

The singer's announcement came shortly after a recent political debate. Patrick, taking to Instagram, questioned how soon Swift was able to post it.

"I love her music TBH," Patrick began in her Instagram reel, via First Sportz. "But there's no way that long post was ready right after the debate.

"I have been on the other side, that was probably written and revised by a team over the last week. Aka. A plan."

Patrick's response goes beyond Swift's political leanings, pointing to a broader critique of the orchestrated nature of celebrity endorsements in modern politics, regardless of which party they endorse.

Since retiring from professional racing in 2018, Patrick has redirected her influence towards advocating for a healthy lifestyle and fitness. Regularly sharing her workout routines and dietary habits with her followers, she has built a reputation for promoting a clean diet despite grappling with high cholesterol.

In a recent post, Patrick detailed her daily diet.

"We live in an era of questioning everything. We have to. I eat very clean and simple... and have high cholesterol... I basically eat steak, chicken, eggs, fish, sourdough bread, avocados, bacon, cheese, dark chocolate, some veggies... onion, mushroom, broccoli, Brussels, carrots, leeks, tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, rice, Greek yogurt, berries, bananas, apples, coffee, and wine."

Patrick is no stranger to dividing opinions. Known for her record-breaking career as the most successful woman in the history of American open-wheel racing, Patrick has consistently challenged the status quo. She was the first woman to win an IndyCar race and achieved a third-place finish at the iconic Indianapolis 500, the best finish ever by a female driver. She followed this with a career in media.

Her work as a pundit for Sky Sports F1 and NBC's coverage of the Indianapolis 500 has solidified her as a prominent voice in motorsports commentary, albeit one that has been involved in controversy a number of times. Additionally, Patrick has built a successful entrepreneurial career with her sportswear line, 'Warrior by Danica Patrick,' and wine label 'Somnium,' which means 'dream' in Latin.
