Shabana Azmi had once spoken about how she dealt with not being able to have children of her own with Javed Akhtar. She said she didn't want to adopt a child but her close rapport with Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar helped!

Shabana Azmi is one of the best actresses of Hindi cinema and she continues to be remembered for a number of remarkable performances. She continues to prove it even now, with movies like 'Ghoomer' and 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' that she's been a part of. Shabana has also always been very honest about her life and marriage with Javed Akhtar (which was his second marriage after first wife Honey Irani).

Here's also recalling the time when Shabana spoke about dealing with the fact that she couldn't have children of her own.
The actress had said this during a chat with Simi Grewal that not having children changed her perspective towards marriage and work. She was amazed at how she easily accepted the reality. She said, "Not being able to have children, in a sense, made the choices much easier because I could give so much more of my time because I think motherhood is very demanding."
She furhter added, "Once I realised I couldn’t have kids, I didn’t let it linger over and make me unhappy. I just packed my bags and carried on from there and was very grateful for many other things that I could do."
Shabana also added that she did not want to adopt a child. However, it's her close relationship with Farhan and Zoya Akhtar which fulfilled her need for connection with the younger generation. Over the years, she's continued to maintain a great rapport with Javed's children with his first wife.
On work front, Shabana will be seen next in a film title 'Bun Tikki' with Zeenat Aman and Abhay Deol.Shabana Azmi will also be seen in Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's upcoming web show Dabba Cartel which also stars Shalini Pandey and Lillete Dubey.
