In the wake of the recently released "Deadpool and Wolverine" trailer, fans have been debating the identity of the actress behind Lady Deadpool. Speculations initially pointed to pop sensation
Taylor Swift, especially after she was seen on set with
Ryan Reynolds and director
Shawn Levy. However, subsequent reports leaned towards Reynolds' wife, actress
Blake Lively, as the likely candidate to don the red suit and blonde ponytail.
The debate took an unexpected twist when a new fan theory emerged, suggesting that Lady Deadpool might actually be Reynolds himself in a woman's suit. This theory gained traction quickly among the fanbase with many having a hearty laugh over the possibility that it might just be Ryan behind the mask.
At a global press conference, attended by ETimes,
Hugh Jackman, who reprising his iconic role as Wolverine, addressed the buzz around this theory. When asked about his favourite fan theory, Jackman responded with enthusiasm, "I like the one where Ryan is playing Lady Deadpool. Take the mask off!"
Ryan, known for his quick wit, retorted with a grin, "As if I could..." He continued to joke, "My hips, they lie like hell. Those hips don't lie. Oh yeah, I was on set with her and she's... That is a red jaguar coming at us."
Before the actors could drop any more hints, director Levy intervened, saying, "Let's say no more. Let's say no more."
The upcoming film's plot revolves around Deadpool and Logan forming an unlikely alliance to combat a multiversal threat posed by Cassandra Nova, portrayed by
Emma Corrin. The teasers along with its multiverse theme, suggest that long-time Marvel fans can expect numerous major character cameos, dating far back as the X-Men saga.
'Deadpool and Wolverine' releases in theatres on July 26.
