NEW DELHI: The much-awaited Supreme Court hearing on pleas seeking re-test of NEET-UG, which ran into controversy over alleged paper leak, a charge denied by
National Testing Agency and the Centre, was deferred by a week to July 18. As directed by the SC, the Centre and NTA filed their responses on Wednesday, saying IIT-Madras's analysis of results of top 1.4 lakh rank holders showed no abnormality and that the alleged video of question paper on Telegram channel was posted after timestamp was manipulated to create the impression of a leak.
CBI also filed a probe status report with the court without providing a copy to the petitioners. A three-judge bench led by CJI D Y Chandrachud was ready to post all 45 petitions for hearing on Friday.
Solicitor general Tushar Mehta requested the court to adjourn the hearing to Thursday. The bench accepted the requests and posted the matter for hearing on July 18.
