-Unification of MTS cadre in the Department of Posts • Hereafter there will be a single cadre of MTS for subordinate offices, (Postal, RMS, CO/RO, Postal Accounts, Civil wing etc) • There will be no change in the Appointing authority and disciplinary authority. • GDS of a recruiting division will be eligible for appointment as MTS on seniority basis as per the Recruitment Rules. • GDS appearing the competitive exam will have option to choose CO, DAP, Civil/Electrical wing etc. • At the time of applying the GDS shall submit order of preference. It should be made at the time applying for the examination. • Once GDS is appointed as MTS, he is eligible for Postman, Mail Guard or LDC in DAP as per the provisions of recruitment rules. • In case of promotion under seniority it will be only in the recruiting unit as per RRs. • Once MTS opts one channel of promotion, he will remain in this channel only Example if opt for PA/SA, he cannot opt for LDC DAP. • MTS shall not be transferred to other wings under Rule 37. They can seek Rule 38 transfer one office to another in the same channel. • MTS will be recruited through one set of Recruitment Rules of MTS.
