“The Hall of Fame is the top of the mountain. Bill(Parcells) and I would have these discussions and I would say, ‘let’s pull a starting lineup from the Hall of Fame’,” the AFC head coach reflected.

“I would say he (Allen) would be unanimously the starting left guard and there aren’t many players that you could say that about.”

Payton and Parcells would agree that Larry Allen is the best starting left guard in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The legendary guard was inducted into the NFL All-Decade Teams for the 1990s and 2000s, alongside selection for the NFL 100th Anniversary All-Time Team.
