-Relaxation of minimum qualifying service for promotion to HSG II • The Department of Posts relaxed minimum qualifying service condition for promotion to HSG II vide its order dated 9.2.2024. • Even though it is belated, it is welcoming one. • As per the HSG II Recruitment Rules, the minimum qualifying service is fixed as six years for the promotion from LSG to HSG II. • This has been relaxed as four year’s service. • The officials promoted to LSG at the time of introduction of cadre review will be benefited by this relaxation and almost all the HSG II posts may be filled up on regular basis. • The relaxation is granted only for the vacancy years of 2022 & 2023 • As per the recruitment rules there are 8805 HSG II posts and because of the relaxation to 4 years, most of the vacant posts may be filled up. • The fruits of Cadre review will be felt by all and at the same time we should demand next cadre review as per the DOPT guidelines.
