Dominican Republic’s SkyHigh Airline Adds New Guyana Flights

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - February 26, 2024 - 2:59 pm

Fast-growing Dominican Republic-based carrier SkyHigh Dominicana has continued to grow its Caribbean network with the launch of a new nonstop route between Santo Domingo and Georgetown, Guyana.

The new service connecting the Dominican Republic with the CARICOM headquarter state will be running three times each week, with flights already underway.

SkyHigh is operating the service Embraer 190 jets with capacity for 97 travelers, including nine seats in business class.

Flights will run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

“We are delighted to welcome SkyHigh Dominicana to the Guyana aviation landscape,” said Juan Edghill, Guyana’s Minister of Public Works. “This new route aligns with our vision of fostering regional integration and creating a strong air transportation network. We are confident that it will contribute significantly to the increase in tourism, trade and investment, further boosting Guyana’s development.”

As the Dominican Republic continues to see record-breaking visitor arrivals, it has also quietly become a growing center for intra-regional travel, with a burgeoning network of flights across the Caribbean on both SkyHigh and fellow Dominican carrier Arajet.
