YAMUNANAGAR: The crime investigation agency (CIA)-I of Yamunanagar police arrested a man with illicit weapons and live rounds from Garhi road in Hamida area of the city on Tuesday.
The accused has been identified as Ghulam Mustafa, a resident of Old Hamida, Yamunanagar, who was produced in the court on Wednesday, which granted his four-day police remand.
The CIA-I team recovered four pistols, one musket, six pistol magazines, 20 live rounds from accused Mustafa.

Kewal Singh said that their team received the tip-off that a youth would travel with illicit arms on Garhi road in Hamida area. He said a team was formed to nab the suspect. “During checking, the team recovered illicit arms and ammunition from accused Mustafa from the car in which he was traveling”, said inspector Kewal.
He said that accused Mustafa had been working to sell illicit arms for the last about six to seven months and his friend from Hamida procure these arms from
Uttar Pradesh. “Both accused persons shared profit among each other. The second accused in this case has also sold arms in the past, who would be arrested soon”, said Kewal.
He added that accused Mustafa has a history of criminal cases while his friend has the same with serious offences in Yamunanagar and Uttar Pradesh state.
