The bullet missed the shopkeeper and hit the bystander instead. "The deceased bystander has been identified as Ramsharan Chauhan (65)," Meshram said. Those in the car were coming from Palamu in neighbouring Jharkhand. After the bystander took the bullet and collapsed, scores of irate villagers dragged the youths out of the car and thrashed them. Two of them died on the spot and one in hospital hours later.
"The identities of the deceased could not be ascertained so far. The other two critical are unable to speak," the SP said.
