BHUBANESWAR: BJD leader and 5T chairman VK Pandian on Wednesday launched a scathing attack against Union education minister
Dharmendra Pradhan for the latter’s alleged comment against the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) in Sambalpur on Monday.
Pradhan during his public address at Bamanda in Sambalpur district said the state government has provided treatment in pen and paper and spent crores of rupees by publishing advertisements, but the village people did not get the facilities.
He also spoke about the Centre’s Ayushman Bharat.
Pandian said the Union minister is criticizing the BSKY scheme very often. “If they think the scheme is a bad one, can they announce in their election manifesto that the BJP will stop BSKY in the state after coming to power. Can they write it in the first point of the manifesto?” said the BJD leader while addressing the Ranpur people in Nayagarh district on Wednesday.
He said poor people are getting the best treatment in big hospitals. “Chief minister Naveen Patnaik has provided health facilities through BSKY to the people of the state. Why is the Union minister not tolerating this good thing and getting angry at the government,” he added.
He said nobody can wake up a person who is acting like he/she is sleeping. “If common people speak about it loudly, they can wake up. Odisha people will give befitting reply to the leaders insulting BSKY scheme,” he added.
Pandian said 300 grievances of people have been solved out of 350 applications received during his July 20 visit to Ranpur. He said the chief minister has sanctioned Rs 80 crore for the Ranpur assembly constituency within the last four months.
