PATNA: Ahead of proposed the Ram temple consecration ceremony at Ayodhya, the RJD headed by Lalu Prasad on Wednesday launched the “Karyakarta Samwad” (Workers’ dialogue with the masses) programme to make people aware about the “anti-people policy” of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre and at the same time apprising them about the “achievements” of the state government during interaction with the villagers.
In the first phase, which will continue till January 12, the RJD plans to cover 13 districts. The remaining districts will be covered in the second phase of the two-day programme beginning January 16. A number of RJD ministers attended the programmes in 13 districts and tried to give teeth to the party strategy.
During the programmes, the RJD leaders and workers informed the masses about how the centre failed to tame shooting inflation, provide employment to youths as promised, check incidents of atrocities on women and did nothing to work for the welfare of the poor class. “Aside from these, the BJP-led NDA government is also weakening democracy and we have to take a resolve over the issue,” the workers told the masses during the dialogue programme.
At the same time, the RJD workers also told the masses about the caste survey done by the state government, and it hiked the quota percentage for reserved castes based on their current population. They also sought the support of the masses in carrying the state forward.
What was special about this programme was a good number of RJD ministers rushing to various locations to attend the function to boost up the morale of party workers on the ground. Prominent ministers who attended the programme included Surendra Prasad Yadav, Alok Kumar Mehta, Jitendra Kumar Rai, Ramanand Yadav, Prof Chandra Shekhar, Samir Kumar Mahaseth and Kumar Sarvjeet.
The idea is said to be a counter to BJP’s move to publicize the achievements of the Narendra Modi government among the masses through various measures. Various Raths passing through the state tell the people about how Modi means “guarantee” and a number of public welfare schemes launched by the Centre were improving the condition of the poor.
