2 dropped MLAs back as protests force Congress to change 4 MP candidates

Madhya Pradesh Congress on Wednesday changed candidates for four assembly seats following protests and what party sources called "strong feedback from the grassroots". Two of them are MLAs - Ajab Singh Kushwaha and Murli Morwal - who had been dropped, apparently as a result of internal surveys. These four constituencies are Sumawali, Pipariya (SC), Badnagar and Jaora. With this, Congress has changed candidates on seven seats. The party could change two or three more candidates in the next few days, including Amla, where former deputy collector Nisha Bangre is eyeing the ticket, sources said.

With this, Congress has changed candidates on seven seats. The party could change two or three more candidates in the next few days, including Amla, where former deputy collector Nisha Bangre is eyeing the ticket, sources said.
Five days ago, Congress had released its second list of 88 candidates, dropping MLAs Ajab Singh Kushwaha from Sumawali and Murli Morwal from Badnagar.
State Congress spokesman Abbas Hafeez told TOI: "Our party's target is to get a thumping majority. And if we need to change candidates for that, we will. The change of candidates has been effected after feedback from local workers and leaders. But those who have been replaced should not worry. "
