SHARDIYA NAVRATRI 2023 DAY 4 TODAY, OCTOBER 18: The Chaturthi Tithi, or the fourth day of the auspicious nine-night-long festival of Hindus, Navratri, is dedicated to Goddess Kushmanda, the fourth form of the nine incarnations of Goddess Durga worshipped during this period. It is believed that after taking the form of Siddhidatri, Goddess Parvati resided in the centre of the sun to balance energy and light and liberate energy from the universe.

    The fourth day of Navratri will be marked on Wednesday, October 18. According to the Drik Panchang, the Dwitiya Tithi will be in effect from 01:26 AM on October 18 to 01:12 AM on October 19.

    It is believed that Maa Kushmanda created the whole universe, which is called Brahmanda in Sanskrit, by just flashing little bit of her smile. The goddess likes Bali of white pumpkin known as Kushmanda and it is considered that her Jap Mala is to be the source of all the power bestowed upon Siddhis and Niddhis.

    Navratri 2023 Day 4: Puja Vidhi For Maa Kushmanda

    1. Devotees of Devi Kushmanda must wake up early and wear fresh and clean clothes after bathing for the morning puja
    2. The Goddess is then offered shringaar samagri like red chunri, sindoor, bangles, bindi, kajal, toe ring, comb, earrings, nose pin, necklace, mirror, anklets, perfume, etc.
    3. Maa Kushmanda is worshipped with red coloured flowers, wheras devotees also offer Wax Gourd or Petha as a symbolic sacrifice.
