NEW DELHI:
Vineet Jain, Times Group MD and Chancellor,
Bennett University, called on President
Droupadi Murmu in Delhi on Monday and presented her with the first copy of the latest edition of Femina.
The edition showcases the inspiring story of the President — a manifestation of women’s empowerment and a pathbreaker in her own right
Last year, Murmu was elected as the first tribal President, a remarkable rise for the unassuming politician who began her career as a councilor in Odisha.
Before joining politics, Murmu worked as a primary school teacher and soon became the junior assistant in the State Irrigation and Power Department.
