'OMG 2', which is due for a release tomorrow, has been awarded an A certificate by the
Central Board of Film Certification. The film stars
Akshay Kumar in the lead role, the CBFC had modified his character to be the messenger of Lord Shiva. 'OMG 2' touches upon the sensitive subject of sex education in schools and also stars
Pankaj Tripathi and
Yami Gautam.
The CBFC has reportedly awarded the film an A certificate because of the sensitivity of the subject.
However, Pankaj Tripathi was very open in voicing his disappointment. He told DNAthat the A certificate means that children from the age of 12 to 18 will not be able to watch it and 'OMG 2' is targeted with a message for this specific age group. Pankaj Tripathi stated that the A certificate took the crew and the actors completely by surprise. He stated that they were hoping for a U/A certificate but that did not work out.
Helmed by Amit Rai, 'OMG 2' is scheduled to hit the screens on August 11 and will clash with 'Gadar 2' at the box office.
