Proposal for merger of Sorting Assistant with Postal Assistants • The Sorting Assistants recruitment will be frozen and no further appointment. • Existing SA shall continue till next promotion or cease to be in service. • SA can switch over to PA cadre. After switch over also shall continue in the strength of RMS division if not allotted to postal division. • At the time of option, they can give preference not more than five divisions/units. If no vacancy in the postal divisions they will continue in the RMS divisions. • Opted Sas will be enbloc below the officials of PA cadre. Inter se seniority will be given only among the RMS officials and not with the PA officials. • Once opted as PA he will not allowed to revert back to SA cadre. • Their promotions in LSG HSG etc will be at par with the postal hierarchy and will be posted in postal divisions. • SA cadre officials can be considered for the promotion in the existing RMS hierarchy. • Opted off …...more
