Skipped vote on services bill due to wife surgery: RLD president
AGRA: A day after RLD president Jayant Chaudhary remained absent from Parliament during voting on the Delhi services Bill, fuelling rumours that he is going to join the BJP-led NDA, the Rajya Sabha MP on Tuesday told TOI that there was a medical emergency at home. "My wife had a surgery, and therefore I couldn't take part in voting. There is no other reason for my absence from the House."
When asked if there is any possibility of joining BJP, Chaudhary replied, "No way, I will not join BJP.

Why should I join BJP?"
Raj Kumar Sangwan, national convenor of RLD, said, "There was a genuine reason for his (Chaudhary) absence. Moreover, the mathematics of voting was very much clear that the Bill would pass through. There were others who had not come to vote."
Notably, for the last few weeks, there have been discussions among the voters - especially in Muzaffarnagar, Shamli and Baghpat where 9 of 12 assembly seats were won by RLD-SP alliance candidates in last year's state polls - that Chaudhary might switch to BJP.
