Kolton Miller will Face NFL's Toughest DEs in 2023

Las Vegas Raiders offensive lineman Kolton Miller has established himself as one of the premier left tackles in the NFL over the past couple of seasons.
Miller, the 15th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, has started 79 games in five years with the Raiders, solidifying himself as the cornerstone of the team’s offensive line.
Heading into his sixth season in the Silver and Black, Miller will once again face some of the league’s best edge rushers, especially some in his own division in the AFC West.
Let’s take a look through the Raiders’ schedule and highlight some of the tougher challenges Miller will face off the edge this season.
In the second week of the season when the Raiders take on the Buffalo Bills, Miller will likely see a lot of Von Miller, who has been one of the best edge rushers in the NFL for over a decade. The eight-time Pro Bowler has amassed over 120 sacks in his career.
Miller will also likely see a fair amount of Gregory Rousseau, the long, athletic third-year man for the Bills who posted eight sacks last season. With these two edge rushers looking to get after his quarterback, Miller will have to be on his game early in the season.
The Raiders will host the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 3, who feature one of the best young defensive players in all of football in T.J. Watt. Watt is a three-time First-Team All-Pro and won Defensive Player of the Year in 2021.
Miller will also likely face Alex Highsmith, who broke out last season and earned a contract extension with the Steelers after posting 14.5 sacks and five forced fumbles. Right after a tough match-up in week two, Miller will be right back at it with two more havoc-wreaking edge rushers in week three.
Later on in the season when the Raiders face the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football, Miller will be tasked with taking on the talented young defensive end Aidan Hutchinson. Hutchinson posted nine and a half sacks and 15 quarterback hits in his rookie season, and is expected to be the face of the Lions’ defense for years to come.
With all these elite edge rushers in the NFL, Miller will have to be at his best to protect his quarterback and keep defenses at bay.
The Silver and Black open the preseason by hosting the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Aug. 13, at 4 p.m. EDT/1 p.m. PDT.
