3:08 PM ... Lake Zurich firefighters and paramedics working at the scene of a head-on crash on Fairfield Road south of Milton Road Hawthorne Woods. Two-vehicle head-on crash. Lake Zurich 280 reports bystanders attempting to extinguish an engine fire at a crash scene that appears to be a 2-vehicle head-on crash. There was no extrication necessary. Two patients are conscious and talking, and were removed from their vehicles by 3:22 PM. Two ambulances assigned to the scene -- Lake Zurich and Wauconda ambulance transporting.
