‘Classroom For Heroes’ TV Anime Adds New Promo & Sets Premiere Date

Welcome to Rosewood Academy, a school that trains future heroes destined to protect mankind.

With the release back in September 2021 of the Eiyū Kyōshitsu (Classroom For Heroes) light novel series from Shin Araki, some pictures of the volumes surfaced before release and the wraparound on it reveals that a TV anime adaptation is in the works. The series was previously set for a July 2023 premiere and has now been updated with a formal July 9th, 2023 date. That comes with a new promotional video below as well as a commercial spot produced from it as well.

Keiichiro Kawaguchi is on board to direct it based on the scripts written and supervised by Naoki Hayashi. Kosuke Kawamura is the character designer and chief animation director with Actas handling the production.

The Japanese cast includes:

  • Reiji Kawashima as Blade
  • Misuzu Yamada as Arnest Flaming
  • Nao Tōyama as Sophi
  • Hina Kino as Cú Chulainn
  • Eri Yukimura as Claire
  • Haruka Shiraishi as Jessica
  • Sarah Emi Bridcutt as Maria/Moe
  • Aya Uchida as Iona
  • Shūichi Uchida as Clay
  • Tomohiro Ōno as Cassim
  • Tomohito Takatsuka as Leonard
  • Konomi Kohara as Eliza
  • Rikiya Koyama as King Gilgamesh
  • Tetsu Inada as Asmodeus

The opening has Kaede Higuchi performing while the ending has Akane Kumada, neither of which revealed the song titles.

The light novel series began in 2015 from Shin Araki with Haruyuki Morisawa handling the illustrations for it. The series has thirteen volumes as of July 2022 while the manga from Koara Kishida has fifteen volumes as of August 2022.

Plot Concept: The academy fantasy novel series is set in Rosewood Academy, a school that trains future heroes destined to protect mankind. The school accepts only those with the most potential. Arnest Flaming, a girl who boasts the top record in the academy, is assigned to guide a mysterious but cheerful new student named Blade who rivals her own power.
