New Colombia-Dominican Republic Flights

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - June 2, 2023

The Dominican Republic keeps setting tourism records, and while much of that growth is coming from the United States and Canada, an increasing number of travelers are coming to the country from South America.

Now, Dominican Republic-based carrier Arajet is adding another flight from the south, with a new route between Medellin and Santiago set to launch in July.

The new service, which begins July 17, will operate twice weekly between Medellin and Santiago, with service on Mondays and Thursdays.

“We are committed to the development of tourism in all corners of the country,” said Dominican Republic Tourism Minister David Collado. “I am sure that the new routes will make both Santiago de los Caballeros and Cibao an excellent tourism destination.”

The low-cost carrier is based at Las Americas International Airport in Santo Domingo, and has been expanding at a rapid rate around the Caribbean, from St Maarten to Curacao.
