Marvel Studios is reportedly not having conversations about replacing Jonathan Majors as Kang in the Marvel Cinematic Universe following his arrest. The actor made his MCU debut in Loki season 1 as He Who Remains but returned earlier this year as Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Weeks after the film's debut and Marvel's efforts to introduce the big bad of the Multiverse Saga, Jonathan Majors was arrested in New York on March 26, 2023, for alleged assault. The Kang actor was released shortly thereafter and his representation has denied any wrongdoing, but questions about his future in Hollywood have remained.A new report from Deadline indicates that his days of playing Kang variants in the MCU are not over. In a story about Jonathan Majors being dropped by his talent manager Entertainment 360, the outlet states that Marvel Studios has had "zero conversations" about replacing him in future MCU projects. Majors has already filmed his role for Loki season 2, which was teased in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania's post-credits. He will also return for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty if Marvel Studios maintains its current stance.

Why Marvel Studios Has Not Moved On From Jonathan Majors (Yet)

Marvel Studios moving on from Jonathan Majors as Kang appears to be a decision that the company is in no rush to make. In the weeks that have followed Jonathan Majors' arrest, there has been no official statement about his future as Kang from anyone associated with Disney or Marvel. It appears that the studios are willing to let the legal process involved with the alleged assault move forward, continue to assess the situation as more information comes to light, and then make a final decision on Jonathan Majors' Marvel future once the full story - and supposed video evidence that proves his innocence - has been revealed.

Other businesses involved with Jonathan Majors are not taking the same approach as Marvel Studios, though. Entertainment 360 dropped the actor "due to issues surrounding the actor’s personal behavior" according to the Deadline report. His PR firm The Lede Company has also parted ways with Majors in the weeks following his arrest, while Valentino and the actor "mutually agreed" to not have him attend the Met Gala as one of its guests next month. The multiple examples of Jonathan Majors' business partners dropping him could eventually mean that Marvel Studios also follows suit.

The MCU dropping Jonathan Majors and recasting Kang is a decision that could easily be rectified thanks to the multiverse, but Marvel Studios also does not need to rush the decision. With Victor Timely's significant role in Loki season 2 already filmed, the franchise will have at least one more appearance from him regardless of how the assault allegations are resolved. That is why Marvel Studios could be taking its time to learn exactly what happened with Jonathan Majors' arrest before having any conversations about replacing him as Kang in the MCU, which could still happen.
